Itinerary
Day 1
Maun
- This tour starts off with a night in the historic town of Maun, where you will be picked up from Maun International Airport and taken to your lodge, The Crocodile Camp. Situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River, this cozy lodge will be the perfect place to relax before you set off on your camping adventure into the sands of the Kalahari. You may spend the afternoon at the lodge spa enjoying a relaxing massage or alternatively explore the range of activities available in Maun, such as a sunset river cruise or a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta. It is also advisable for you to purchase your preferred beverages in Maun before you depart for the camping safari the next morning.
Day 2
Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- On day 2, you will set off early from your lodge after an early breakfast. Your safari guide will meet you at the lodge, thereafter you will drive south to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve where the guide and his team will set up camp for the night. The Central Kalahari GR is Botswana's biggest game reserve, situated in the middle of the Kalahari desert and offering mesmerizing views of a truly unique landscape and diverse wildlife. After camp has been set up, you will have the time to settle in and watch the sunset over endless horizon while the chef prepares a delicious bush dinner. African bush dinners have been around for millennia, with ancient African tribes gathering around the fire to enjoy a meal and share the day's stories under the stars.
Day 3,4
Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- The following two days will be spent exploring the unspoiled wilderness of the Kalahari, camp hopping as you go along. You will drive through untamed open spaces that are absolutely free of human development. You will have the opportunity to meet the indigenous people of the Kalahari, the ancient San Bushmen. You will get to feel and learn of their culture, traditions and fascinating way of life, finding inspiration in every turn. The wildlife found in the Kalahari has adapted to survive the arid conditions of the desert. Antelopes such as the springbok, the oryx, wildebeest, duiker and steenbok call the desert their home. All three of Africa's big cats are found in the Kalahari aswell as an endless array of birdlife and smaller game such as the meerkat in great numbers. This desert safari reveals truly wild Africa as you will experience pure adventure camping, escaping the modern world. The nights will end with experiences of one of the planets most spectacular night skies.
Day 5
Maun
- On day 5, you will head back to Maun after breaking up camp, for your final night in Botswana. Once you're in Maun, you may use the rest of the afternoon to rest at the Crocodile Camp Safari & Spa before your onward journey the next day. This also gives you the opportunity to visit the town centre and do some shopping for sovenirs and also visit local attractions. A relaxing long shower and rest will definitely be greatly appreciated after the camping safari.
Day 6
Maun
- Day 6 brings you to the end of this epic adventure safari. You will be transferred to Maun International Airport well before your flight check in time for your onward journey.
