YOUR ITINERARY

Day 1

Livingstone

- This tour begins with pick up from the international airport in Livingstone. You will be transferred to your resort hotel, The Avani Victoria Falls Hotel where you will spend the next 3 nights. After checking in at your hotel, you may spend the afternoon relaxing on the lush hotel grounds where the resort keeps a few zebra, impala and giraffes which you will definitely spot as you move around the resort. Located inside the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, this gorgeous resort is closest to the majestic Victoria Falls, a mere 500m walk to the falls themselves. With unlimited access to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls throughout your stay, you will have the opportunity to discover the sheer size and wonder of this incredible natural phenomenon. You may also use the afternoon to take part in the wide range of activities on offer in The Adventure Capital of Africa such as the famous Victoria Falls Bungee Jump or the 'Flight of Angels, a breathtaking helicopter flight over the iconic Falls. Originally coined by David Livingstone, he described the Falls and the area that surrounds them as - "scenes so lovely, they must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight."

Day 2

Victoria Falls, Livingstone

- Day 2 starts off soon after breakfast with a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, led by an experienced and knowledgeable local guide. During the walking tour, you will view the falls from different viewing points and even feel the spray from this epic waterfall. The Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of falling water in the world and one of the 7 wonders of the natural world. 550 million litres of water plummet 110 meters into the Batoka Gorge and the falls themselves span across a whopping 1,5 kilometres. This breathtaking experience will definitely be one to remember. After the walking tour, you will return to the hotel for optional lunch and a relaxed afternoon while you wait for your sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River in the afternoon. The scenic sundowner cruise will be the perfect way to end the day. You will be picked up from the hotel at approx. 15:30 for your sundowner cruise, which lasts for approx. 2 hours. After the sun has set beautifully on the Zambezi, you will return to your hotel for a mouth-watering dinner at the hotel's stylish Mediterranean-style restaurant.

Day 3

Mukuni Village, Livingstone

- The third day of the tour takes you to Mukuni Village, home to some 7,000 Leya people. You will embark on this cultural experience with a local guide who will introduce you to the people and guide you through as you witness the lifestyle, traditions and rituals of the Leya people David Livingstone visited this village on more than one occasion, sitting under a giant mango tree in the middle of the village square to meet with the chief. You will be interested to know that it was 2 men from this very village who carried David Livingstone's body all the way to the coast after he died. The descendants of these men still live in the village. After this insightful village tour, you will have a free afternoon of optional excursions. You may use this opportunity to do some shopping for souvenirs at the local craft market or visit the many bars and restaurants in the busy town of Livingstone.

Day 4

South Luangwa National Park

- Day four starts off with an early breakfast and then you will be transferred to the airport in Livingstone for your flight to Lusaka International Airport. Upon arrival in Zambia's capital city, you will be assisted with check-in for your connecting flight to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa. A representative from your accommodation facility will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred by road to the lodge. The beautiful eco-friendly Msandile River Lodge is located on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking a busy wildlife crossing point. You may spend the rest of the afternoon settling in and enjoying a delicious supper in the wilderness, taking in the sights and sounds of Africa.

Day 5,6

South Luangwa National Park

- For the next 2 days you will explore South Luangwa, another region explored by David Livingstone which has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Southern Africa. The "walking safari" was made famous in this National Park and it is still the most captivating way to explore the landscape. Leaving the 4x4 game-drive vehicles, you set out on foot with your guide to walk among elephants, antelope, zebra and even the occasional predator while maintaining a safe and respectful distance from these magnificent animals. You will enjoy game drives, either in the morning or afternoon as well as night drives, an opportunity to enjoy the nocturnal creatures of the park long after the sun has set. The lodge and surrounding camps also offer a range of optional excursions such as hiking, visiting the Mfuwe Lodge to watch the elephants walk through the reception, mountain biking in the bush, birding safaris, canoeing, hiking and more. Another special experience in South Luangwa is watching the moon rise over the timeless African bush and its reflection on the Luangwa River. Your nights will end with romantically lit Boma dinners under the African night sky with that all-important G&T in hand.

Day 7

- On the final day of this laid-back tour, you will be up bright and early in preparation for your transfer to Mfuwe airport for your flight to Lusaka, where you will catch your connecting flight for your onward journey.
